Organization Guidelines

In short, organizations must:

  1. Be created by a member of Main Street Crowd 18 years of age or older, on behalf of and authorized by an organization;
  2. Provide evidence of the existence of the organization and that it is in good standing;
  3. Own or have the rights to use any text, image, audio or video content uploaded to appear on the organization's page on Main Street Crowd;
  4. Not upload any inappropriate content;
  5. Agree to perform any administrative duties associated with any of the available features utilized by the organization;
  6. Agree to the Terms & Conditions for the use of this site as posted; and
  7. Be approved by Main Street Crowd.


Organizations can participate in the activities on Main Street Crowd through a variety of available features.

Features: Once approved, organizations have access to the following features based on the type of organization and its primary business activities:

Many of these features have specific guidelines governing their use that must be agreed to at the time those features are activated.

Eligibility: An “organization” on Main Street Crowd may be created by a member of Main Street Crowd 18 years of age or older, on behalf of and authorized by an organization. An organization is any type of business organization, for-profit, not-for-profit, or a governmental entity, created and licensed under the applicable laws of the state in which it is organized. These include sole proprietorships, limited liability companies, partnerships, and corporations not engaged in any type of activity considered offensive or inappropriate as described below. Purpose: Main Street Crowd is an economic development platform. The activities on Main Street Crowd focus on business and community development and participation in local economic development should be the purpose of creating an organization on Main Street Crowd.

We define business development as those activities by aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners that are directed specifically at raising capital for startup or expansion, or that raise capital for infrastructure projects benefiting local business.

Community development involves raising capital for the purpose of creating, building, equipping, improving, restoring, renovating, rebuilding or rejuvenating community infrastructure or service provision. It can be to raise funds to improve community infrastructure, improve, enhance or expand community services, or generally improve the quality of life in the community in a way that benefits the community.

Creation and Administration: Organizations on Main Street Crowd must be created by a person with the authorization to do so. This person must provide evidence of the authority to create the organization or evidence that she or he holds a position of responsibility within the organization with such authority. This person must also provide evidence of the existence of the organization in the form of a letter or certificate of good standing or non-profit tax status. Main Street Crowd reserves the right to request any documentation we deem sufficient to satisfy these conditions.

Organizations must have an administrator of record at all times with valid contact information. While the responsibilities of the administrator are not significant, he or she must respond promptly to situations that demand action. Intellectual Property on Organization Pages: Organizations must own or have the rights to use any text, images, audio, video or other content uploaded. By uploading your logos or other images and content within your organization pages, you grant to Main Street Crowd a non-exclusive, non-transferable license during the term the pages exist for the use, copying or publicly display on the site of any such logos, trademarked, or copyrighted materials uploaded or developed within those pages by administrators. Main Street Crowd reserves the right to delete any material that is deemed offensive or violates any of the Terms & Conditions for the use of our site.

Prohibited Content: Main Street Crowd is devoted to activities that promote positive and constructive business development and improved quality of life in the community. Organizations may not upload or post content that might be deemed offensive. Acceptability and appropriateness of content is at our sole discretion. Prohibited content includes but is not limited to anything having to do with contests and raffles, lotteries or sweepstakes, drugs or intoxicants of any kind, offers of equity or profit sharing in the organization, offensive or inappropriate language, vulgar or pornographic content of any kind, political endorsements or opposition, and promotion of violence of any kind. We reserve the right to remove or edit any content we deem unacceptable at our sole discretion.
